The case of Albert Woodfox and the Angola 3 is the most vivid example of how medieval and punitive prisons in the U.S. can be. The real crime of Albert, Robert King and the late Herman Wallace was their affiliation with the Black Panther Party and bringing radical ideas to other Black prisoners in one of the most racist prisons in the country that continues to operate with a slave plantation mentality to this day.
