Many of you know that for 23 years we have been on a journalistic path to counter and break through the tsunami of dis information that comes from the main stream media on a daily basis. We have been doing this through not only a printed newspaper with several editions (Argentina, Venezuela, Cuba, and Europe, and soon to come in the United States), but also by incorporating a television program (which can be seen in several Latin American alternative channels), a radio program broadcasted in stations in Europe, a website with many daily visitors, Facebook, twitter and our Diario de Urgencia (Urgency Daily) newsletters. At times we have sustained all the work with some advertising support and other times just by our own resources and commitment to truth in media.
The Urgency Daily newsletter that you have received in your emails since September 12, 2001, a day after the attack on the twin towers, was born based on our assumption that from that day on, the censorship and the closing of information would be total. The corporate view was already in place but what came after 2001 was devastating.
Resumen Latinoamericano is not picked up by their media because our coverage speaks of struggles, exposing of human rights violations, and the many evils of imperialism and capitalism. Our view point is one resembling the perspective of the people including places that have governments that advance the needs of the majority.
Having said all this, because of everything happening in Latin America we are being seriously affected by the very inflation that we fight against. The price of printing paper has become like gold and the ink as well and that is why we are calling on the support of our readers to help us out financially so that we can continue publishing our alternative media.
In the 23 years of our existence we have never asked our readers for economic support before, but now we have no alternative and it has become necessary. We do not hesitate in our asking here because we have confidence in those of you who receive our news and analysis.
