250 Cubans have been stranded in Haiti since February, after Sunrise Airways suspended flights between Cuba and Port-au-Prince due to the political crisis and violence in this Central American country.

A first group of 49 Cubans arrived this Friday in the province of Camagüey, as part of the operation coordinated by Cuban authorities, various ministries and the Cuban Embassy in Haiti.

According to information from the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX), in order to achieve the transfer, the Cubans had to travel in a caravan of buses from Port-au-Prince to the city of Cap Haitien, in the north of the country; from where the return was made through the Sunrise airline.

A second group of 48 Cubans arrived this Saturday afternoon, according to information provided by the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on its account on the social network X that the third group with 48 Cubans on board arrived at the “Ignacio Agramonte” International Airport in the eastern city of Camagüey, in what constitutes the second flight of the day.

The Cuban Foreign Ministry pointed out that it will continue to provide information on the development of this return operation until its completion, which is expected for Sunday 21.

With the arrival in Cuba of this third group, there are already 145 of the more than 200 that will arrive in the country this weekend in several flights of the Sunrise airline from Cape Haiti to the international airports “Ignacio Agramonte” in the province of Camagüey and “Antonio Maceo Grajales” in Santiago de Cuba.
