Alicia Jrapko Vive!
As we move into 2023, we leave the last year with bittersweet memories. In early January we lost our beloved founder and editor Alicia Jrapko who, while battling a long illness, continued to contribute to Resumen in English until her final days. We took Alicia’s tender courage and determination as an inspiration to continue, and her example helped us improve and grow.
Over the course of the year, we brought you 155 issues without missing a beat. Our subscriber list grew and the number of progressive media outlets picking up our articles flourished. Many of you share our work with others, which is essential, and we sincerely thank you for that. Helping us cover basic operating expenses is equally important, which is why we kindly ask you to contribute today.
As we enter our 8th year, it is hard to believe that the outrageous lies and slander coming from the media and agents of the empire could have gotten any worse. But they have, making our work more important and relevant than ever. They spend millions upon millions demonizing the popular movements and progressive governments of Latin America and the world, but what they don’t have, and we do, is truth. We just need your help to get it out.
