The International Committee for Peace, Justice and Dignity, together with a team from Resumen Latinoamericano and a group of Palestinian students studying medicine in Cuba, paid a somber visit of respect, on Tuesday, to the Embassy of Iran to sign the book of condolences to honor Ibrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and his companions, who died last Sunday, May 19, in an unfortunate plane crash.
His Excellency Seyed Mohammad Hadi Sobbani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Cuba thanked the Cuban government and the people who have come to the residence of the diplomatic headquarters to honor the memory of the Iranian leader and the officials who accompanied him on the tragic flight.
“We are summoned by the pain we all have before this irreparable loss, since we learned of the accident the concern was constant hour after hour…, we also lost the one we felt close to as if he were our president, for his anti-imperialist, anti-Zionist struggle and his international solidarity. Ibrahim Raisi was an exceptional leader,” said Graciela Ramírez Cruz, coordinator of the International Committee for Peace, Justice and Dignity and editor-in-chief of the Cuba bureau of Resumen Latinoamericano, on behalf of her colleagues.
The Iranian ambassador expressed his profound gratitude for at the overwhelming expressions of affection he has received and the affection reaching his nation from all regions of the planet, a sign that Ibrahim Raisi was a leader of resistance for the whole world.
“Our policy and anti-imperialist struggle will continue, as will our support for the Palestinian people and their cause. Already the whole world knows the truth of the Palestinian cause, they made clear their identity as a people and unmasked with their struggle Zionism, they exposed what is behind the Zionist mask and their true intentions towards the Palestinian people.”
“University students in the United States are demonstrating on behalf of the Palestinian people, something that was unthinkable a while ago. That alone is a victory,” the Iranian ambassador reflected.
Mr. Seyed Mohammad Hadi went on to affirm that “for the first time perhaps, the Zionists are losing because the Palestinian people found their way. With the help of fellow fighters like you we will succeed, the Islamic Republic of Iran will always support the Palestinian cause and its people.”
“We are on the right side of history and victory will be ours, therefore that leads to conflicts and it carries a price, sometimes the price is human losses, people dying, sometimes the price is material, but either way victory will be ours,” the Iranian ambassador stated.
According to Mohammad Hadi, the Islamic Republic of Iran will hold elections in approximately 40 to 50 days where they will elect a new president and chancellor in the country to continue the political legacy upheld by the nation.
Prior to the signing of the Book of Condolences, the Declaration honoring the life and struggle of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ibrahim Raisi and the accompanying delegation, publications of the International Committee, Resumen Latinoamericano, Al-Hadaf Palestinian Magazine, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine were delivered to the Ambassador.
For all of us attending, the meeting held great emotion and a high honor at the moment of the joint photo with the Ambassador, carrying the images of President Raisi and his Chancellor.
