The president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amoroso, informed that the authorities of the electoral body have “distributed 100% of the machines for the presidential election,” a task carried out with the presence of witnesses of all political parties participating in the election throughout the national territory, thus complying with the regulations for the upcoming July 28 presidential elections.

“We can proudly say that we have 100 percent of the machines distributed in each of the states of the country, after a task that required many days,” said the president of the CNE in statements to the media this Sunday, July 21.

Amoroso pointed out that all the material that makes it possible to hold an election of the caliber of July 28 came from the CNE warehouses located in Mariche, Miranda state, and he sent a message of congratulations to all those who work in the electoral body “because they are true heroes,” he said.

Verification of each process
Amoroso noted that representatives of each political party have been present in each verification and audit process, verifying “from the codes to the software.” He recalled that the CNE and the Venezuelan state guarantee the best automated electoral system and that the candidate chosen by the voters in their electoral process is respected.

He also said that international observers from different countries have verified the voting process and carried out audits together with political parties and technicians from the CNE and universities “and it fills us with pride to hear them say, ‘this is perfect and totally protected so that the Venezuelan people can exercise their will’ this coming July 28.”

“On the other hand, there are others who did not want to sign anything and we might see them shouting some things”—added Amoroso—because they do not agree with the “perfect Venezuelan electoral system,” in reference to the rejection of 2 presidential candidates to sign the anti-guarimba pact a few weeks ago in the CNE headquarters.

He pointed out that there are nations that are “very critical” of the process but it takes months to know who won a presidential or congressional election. “We say from this audit process that we will soon be announcing who will be the next president of the Republic.”

Amoroso added that the CNE permanent session will continue throughout the week, until Sunday, July 28. Finally, he urged the people to vote on July 28, thanking them “for their expressions of confidence in the CNE.”

The Vice President of the CNE, Carlos Quintero, highlighted that during the pre-dispatch audit on July 21, the integrity of the data was validated.”That is to say, everything the machine contains was audited and we validated the act of voting, in addition to the transmission and counting process.”

The proof of voting was also validated against the vote counting record and it was confirmed to be 100 percent correct. Quintero called on all participating political organizations to say that it is very dangerous to call for ignoring the results issued by the CNE because “the voting process is automated, which guarantees a chain of trust, which is what gives political parties peace of mind in this electoral process.”
