Luisa Gonzalez declares fraud in Ecuador election

Three days after the second round of elections, the presidential candidate for the Citizen Revolution movement, Luisa González, reappeared to denounce the discovery of new evidence of irregularities in the counting of votes in this last election.

Through a video on social network X, Luisa González warned of multiple versions of records that were modified by the National Electoral Council (CNE) once they were uploaded to the system, altering not only the chain of custody but also the final result.

González reported that they have 1,984 records without signatures from the authorities of the Voting Reception Boards (JRV), which would violate Article 127 of the code of democracy and should be invalidated.

Candidate González also pointed out that there are 1,526 records whose total does not match the number of voters, which, in her opinion, should also be annulled by the CNE.

She also revealed that they have 1,582 records whose results deviate from the average of their respective polling stations, which would indicate possible additional records in those JRVs.

Luisa González commented that there was an unusual decrease in blank votes, which would cast doubt on the possible direct manipulation of more than 150,000 ballots.

González stated that the majority of the Voting Boards failed to comply with the protocol requiring the registration of the number of voters and added that there was evidence of an artificial decrease in absenteeism, in other words, there were more votes than voters.

In the video, González thanked her voters for “a project that was built on the legitimate union of the left and right.”

She argued that the election campaign was ‘plagued by irregularities’ and that it began with the fact that President Daniel Noboa campaigned without a license to seek reelection.

She also blamed the Ecuadorian president for the “takeover of electoral institutions that illegally allowed the indiscriminate use of public resources for an open campaign by the government.”

The candidate referred to the handing out of ‘million-dollar bonuses without technical analysis as a populist strategy to buy votes, which today puts dollarization at risk.”

Luisa González questioned the ’last-minute changes to polling stations and states of emergency.”

Finally, the candidate of the Citizen Revolution announced that the new findings will be challenged and contested before the competent authorities and lamented that these are under the control of those in power.
