The 30th flight under the Plan Vuelta a la Patria (Return to the Homeland Plan) arrived this today at Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, La Guaira State, Venezuela, with 192 deported compatriots, including 10 minors, two of whom, after experiencing the anguish of separation.

“This is very bad, but if they want to deport us, they should deport us all together,” said Yasmely, reflecting the fear of many Venezuelan children at the possibility of being separated from their families forever during the deportation process from the United States.

In an exclusive interview with teleSUR, Yasmeli expressed her happiness at being reunited with her mother, Amanda, after the sadness of witnessing the deportation of numerous families, which she also experienced firsthand.

Yasmely confessed to having been afraid of being transferred to another family and never seeing her parents and siblings again. Her mother, Amanda, shared that feeling of concern about the possibility of her children being separated from each other and even of never having them back by her side. Both thanked the Venezuelan government for taking the necessary steps to secure the children’s return.

Both the mother and the girl spoke in unison when asked about life in the United States, claiming to have been treated discriminatorily because of their Venezuelan nationality. In this regard, they expressed great relief at being back in their homeland, where they were welcomed with much love.

Amanda described the immense fear she felt at being separated from all her children, and recalled the case of her eldest daughter, a 17-year-old girl who was detained for five months in an adult prison with American women, despite being a minor.

Both Amanda and her daughter Yasmely agreed that leaving their country was not worth it, reiterating that they would never leave again, highlighting the harsh conditions faced by Venezuelan migrants in the United States.
