President Maduro in Cuartel de la Montaña
The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, participated this Thursday in the march on the Day of Loyalty and Love for Commander Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías on the 10th anniversary of his last speech to the population.
From the Cuartel de la Montaña in the 23 de enero parish, the President recalled that that December 8, 2012 was an unprecedented event where the people gave their support to Chávez.
“We have to remember that Chávez is a joyous and victorious march where all the united military, political and social forces pay homage to the Supreme Commander,” he said.
“Chavez knew what was coming in the future and we never failed him nor will we fail him. In these 10 years we have deposited our soul in the capacity of the people of Venezuela who have given a historic battle against the sanctions and the blockade,” he said.
“The circumstances that led us to a point we never wanted and all the memories (…), we saw all the reflections of the sacred flame that has moved us since December 8, that night when Commander Chávez launched what was called and it remained for history as the last proclamation full of orientations and truths, of strategic lines for the time that was to come; Chávez was speaking to the decades that were to come and Chávez knew that he could trust the people, because we were not going to fail them and we have not failed them and we will never fail them as a people and as a revolutionary force.” He said in the middle of the crowd that filled the Montana 4F Barracks.
The head of state also recalled that it has been the victorious people who have overcome the fierce imperialist persecution and that has saved the Homeland and the Revolution.
