Resumen Latinoamericano – English condemns the terrorist firebombing of the Cuban Embassy in Washington, DC. Two Molotov cocktails were hurled at the building last night in the second violent attack in recent years. The U.S. government and the Biden administration are the ones responsible for continuing to fund a campaign of hatred against Cuba.
The timing of this act of desperation is obvious. The prestige of Cuba’s humanitarian and unifying example in the past couple weeks has been internationally recognized. It’s image is shining as an example.
From presiding over the G77 + China Summit in Havana, the intervention of Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel at the United Nations General Assembly and the many acts and meetings around New York that he has conducted. They have all conveyed a message of urgency, possibility and hope that the US State Department and the haters in Miami cannot tolerate.
When the UN votes on the blockade of Cuba on November 2 they know that another overwhelming defeat will happen as they have annually since 1992.
It is time for the 60 year economic war and terrorism against Cuba to end. President Biden must act now and write the simple letter that will remove Cuba from the State Department Sponsor of Terrorism List. Cuba is a target of terrorism and a sponsor of life and the well-being of all humanity.
More than 100 resolutions from City Councils, County Commissions, State Legislatures and importantly, workers organizations, are calling for the illegal U.S. blockade of the island to end. Fully a third of the resolutions have been collected this year and specifically demand that Biden remove Cuba from the State Sponsor of Terrorism (SSOT). The resolutions of elected bodies represent more than 54 million U.S. residents.
