Cuba’s Ministry of Culture (Mincult) reported on Facebook the release from their posts of deputy ministers Fernando Rojas and Kenelma Carvajal, who were replaced by officials Lizette Martinez and Lillitsy Hernandez.
According to the note published in that social network, this movement responds to a policy of the country of gradual renewal of the leadership cadres at all levels, and ratifies in practice the confidence that the Revolution has in young people.
Until her new appointments, Lizette Martinez serves as general director of Cultural Policies of Mincult; and Lillitsy Hernandez as president of the National Council of Performing Arts.
According to the information, at the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Ministry of Culture, in the presence of leaders of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, the State and the Cuban Government, the head of the Ministry, Alpidio Alonso, and other executives praised the long working career and the meritorious work of the outgoing deputy ministers.
They also acknowledged the dedication, revolutionary loyalty and impeccable ethical conduct of both officials.
It was also explained that Fernando Rojas will continue, in the future, as advisor to the Minister of Culture and Kenelma Carvajal will be assigned new tasks.
The communiqué also stated that the meeting highlighted the rising performance of Lizette Martínez and Lillitsy Hernández, their training as art instructors, their transit through different responsibilities, and the admiration and respect they have earned within the sector.
Rachel Garcia, current provincial director of Culture in the eastern province of Holguin, was appointed as the new president of the National Council for the Performing Arts, with a vast experience in management and relevant results in her work, the text notes.
