The approach of the midterm elections in the United States (the entire House of Representatives, one-third of the Senate, and a similar number of governorships), scheduled for November 3 of this year, invites researchers, journalists, and the general public to make predictions about the likely results. Historically, these elections have been considered a kind of barometer for the party in power, which in most cases in recent periods has lost more seats than it has gained. (more…)

The State of the Union address, which takes place every year in the plenary session of the US House of Representatives, is a political exercise that has been used for decades to present the executive branch’s main proposals and concerns to the legislative branch. Between December 16 and 18, 2025, the 23rd edition of the series of Dialogues on Cuba in US Foreign Policy took place in Havana, Cuba, an event that brings together experts from the US, Cuba, and other countries on an annual basis. The event is organized by the Center for International Policy Research, attached to the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is responsible for disseminating the results of the meeting.
