The government of Israeli occupation prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has chosen to sacrifice the lives of prisoners by resuming bombing of the Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the Association of Prisoners’ Families expressed its horror, anger and fear at the deliberate destruction of the process to repatriate the captives.
The worst nightmares of the relatives, the prisoners and the Israeli citizens has become a reality, it said. According to Israeli estimates, at least 59 detainees remain in Gaza, only 24 of whom may be alive.
According to the statement, the use of military escalation as a means of freeing the hostages is considered complete disinformation because increasing the pressure by force puts the prisoners and soldiers at greater risk.
The group demanded that the President of the United States, Donald Trump, work for the release of their relatives and called for the restoration of the ceasefire.
In parallel, the Israeli army announced on Tuesday the resumption of the war against Gaza, launching attacks on residential buildings, displaced persons camps and areas near hospitals throughout the Gaza Strip.
Preliminary reports estimated more than 322 have been killed many more missing and dozens of wounded in less than five hours.
For its part, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas held Netanyahu and his extremist government responsible for the consequences of the treacherous incursion against civilians subjected to a brutal siege and systematic policies of starvation.
It also accused the Zionist authorities of consciously taking a false turn in the ceasefire agreement and exposing the prisoners in Gaza to an uncertain fate.
