The vertigo and harshness of the events that overwhelm us leave, as a result, the dissolution of evil: it is erased by habit, it becomes trivial, a nonsense. What other explanation is there for Donald Trump’s announcement that the “cause” of autism is the consumption of acetaminophen during pregnancy, and the “evidence” lies in the fact that Cubans supposedly do not suffer from the disorder because there is no way to pay for the medicine on the island? The 26th Political Council of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) concluded on Wednesday with a powerful final declaration underscoring the alliance’s continued resistance to foreign intervention and reaffirmation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace. The council meeting brought together high-level representatives from ALBA-TCP member states, who jointly expressed concern over escalating threats to peace, sovereignty, and regional stability—particularly those stemming from the imperialist aggression orchestrated by the United States.
