Against all odds, they offered their last concert in Madrid, where they received a standing ovation for several minutes to a full-house at the Marcelino Camacho Auditorium. (more…)

Although this change of geopolitical orbit has yet to guarantee its horizon of possibility in the medium term, it has already produced a first image in the Brazilian capital that signals a change in the times. I missed it. I missed the ceremony of the awarding of the Honoris Causa of the University of Havana to Silvio Rodríguez Domínguez. I don’t think there is a higher award in Cuban academia. That is why I equate it with a Nobel, the Nobel that Cuba could give to the man who equally deserves that one from the Swedish academy. (more…)

Resumen-English is running this op ed piece appearing in today’s Washington Post. It is startling to find such truth in a mainstream site considering the Post could never be accused of saying anything objectively positive about Cuba.

Even further the article exposes the criminal nature of the Trump and Biden administrations during the pandemic where the vaccine pharmaceuticals’ obscene profits were paramount to saving lives here and around the world. No amount of imperialist rhetoric can hide Cuba’s humanitarian approach of sending front line doctors to countries to fight covid while creating 5 effective vaccines of their own as the US blockade busily tried to prevent access to syringes required to administer them. -editor (more…)
