State of Emergency Declared in NYC over Influx of Asylum Seekers

On October 7, New York City Mayor Eric Adams declared a state of emergency in the city, claiming that since April, over 17,000 asylum seekers have been transported from the southern border of the United States to NYC. These migrants are from Latin America, seeking asylum from violence and extreme poverty, often caused by US imperialist economic policy. (more…)
