Stop the Genocide

In the world of masks and lies everything is upended. Victimizers try to cloak themselves as victims. Liars set themselves up as champions of truth. The cynics present themselves as standards of decency.

Israel and the United States are scandalized by the forceful statements of Lula and Petro; the Miami pack labels as extremist the American soldier who took his own life in solidarity with the Palestinian people; the young Israeli documentary filmmaker who won the Berlinale with his portrait of the tragedy in the West Bank denounces death threats from the Zionist right against him and his family, while the German Minister of Justice accuses the organizers of the famous film festival of anti-Semitism and threatens with legal consequences.

But among so much hypocrisy and falsehood, there are blows that shake like fists. The massacre committed yesterday by the Israeli army against women and men desperate of hunger and suffering is the most graphic and dramatic demonstration of the genocide committed against the Palestinian people, of the murderous character of the Israeli government, of the political shamelessness of the United States and the main European powers and of the brazen complicity of a good part of the main Western media, unable to name things as they are in that Dantesque scenario.

It is GENOCIDE. There is no other name for the mass murder of thousands of children and women; for the blockade of humanitarian aid that has caused the death by starvation yesterday of 7 small infants and the desperation of more than a million people concentrated in the bombed city of Rafah; for the selective annihilation of doctors and journalists, for the viral images on social networks of the mockery of the Israeli soldiers for the bombings and destruction in Gaza or for the humiliations they commit against the Palestinian people.

In the face of so much hatred, only solidarity and humanism, denunciation and condemnation can change the course of events. This March 2, the world will give a response of peace and moral strength to the genocidal and their accomplices. Free Palestine will be a cry multiplied by millions in every corner of the planet.
