Undoubtedly, what happened on June 23, 2021 in the halls of the United Nations represents a Cuban diplomatic victory par excellence, a victory of reason against falsehood, of truth against lies and hypocrisy, of good against evil. The limits of this victory did not stop at Cuba’s territorial borders, it was a victory for all the free, honorable and peace-loving men and women of the world, who shouted loud and clear that the time has come for these unjust policies to cease.
The current U.S. administration must realize that attempts to subjugate a free, proud, courageous, militant and cohesive people to their dignity and boundless faith in their country and their revolution, cannot be subdued. It is true that the resources of this country are limited, but the dignity and self-respect enjoyed by the people of this country knows no bounds.
The United States has always prided itself on being the most powerful in the world militarily and has more than 800 military bases in more than 80 countries and territories, with thousands of soldiers equipped with the most sophisticated, lethal and destructive weapons. Through this (by force and intimidation), Washington has been able to impose its control and hegemony on the governments of these countries, in return, Cuba, this small island, was also able to send thousands of its soldiers and establish bases in dozens of countries and regions of the world, soldiers dressed in white, like the white heart of the common, spontaneous, honest Cuban citizen. Bases that are hospitals and health centers that provide health services to the peoples of the world regardless of their race, religion and color. Soldiers whose weapon is a stethoscope and not a machine gun or a grenade. Soldiers who have earned the respect of the entire world through their work, dedication, sincerity and humanity and not through persuasion and intimidation.
What happened at the United Nations General Assembly confirms this indisputable fact: It was the summit of humanity versus the summit of hypocrisy.
