The International Committee for Peace, Justice and Dignity for the Peoples repudiates with all its strength the assassination attempt against the Vice President of Argentina Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner.
The expressions of hatred, the brutal media onslaught and the fierce judicial persecution of the right wing and the Macrismo, will never be able to neutralize the political leadership capacity and the love of the people of the former two-term president of Argentina.
The fascist hitman who tried to assassinate her in front of her house, in front of the eyes of the people who have been demonstrating for days expressing their support and affection for the vice-president, put Cristina’s precious life and Argentina’s democracy at perilous risk of death.
For four decades the Argentine people have said Never Again to the horror of fascism and death, to the farce of justice and impunity. They have fought tirelessly for the respect of Human Rights, the validity of Democracy and the Rule of Law. All this was intended to be violated with this attack before the eyes of the world.
From the international solidarity movement we call for mobilizations, the universal repudiation of this serious attempt of assassination, the punishment of the intellectual authors who promoted it and those who spread campaigns with language of hatred and violence from the media and the Internet, that set the tone and atmosphere that encourages this level of violent hatred to exist.
Together with the Argentine people, we embrace Cristina, we commend her for her strength and courage and we say again from the Patria Grande: Never Again!
