Popular rallies in solidarity with the people of Palestine will take place all over Cuba this Saturday, March 2, in urgent support of the worldwide call of progressive organizations and movements who are standing against the announced Israeli genocide on the town of Rafah, where one and a half million Palestinians are concentrated.
From early hours, especially in the provincial capitals, and in the case of Havana at the José Martí Anti-imperialist Tribune, these events will be organized by the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), the Union of Young Communists (UJC), the Federation of High School Students (FEEM) and the Federation of University Students (FEU).
Interviewed by the Cuban News Agency, representatives of these organizations agreed on the urgency and seriousness of the moment, so that despite the limitations and difficulties faced by Cuba with fuel and transportation, the denunciation and condemnation of this new holocaust cannot be ignored or silenced.
Osmayda Hernández Beleño, member of the National Secretariat of the FMC, recalled that women and children have been the main victims of the Zionist aggressions in the Gaza Strip, so she urged the Cuban women and families to once again demand the cessation of such barbaric acts to which the military intervention in Rafah is now expected to be added.
Reudenys Salas Artemant, member of the National Bureau of the UJC, added that humanitarian aid enters the Palestinian territory through this zone; in view of the expected aggression against this stronghold, we call on all Cubans and especially the people of the capital to gather in the Anti-imperialist Tribune, right in front of the US diplomatic headquarters, whose government has vetoed the ceasefire by Israel and the possibility of ending this world holocaust, he said.
For the FEEM, Amanda Bárbara Santos Viamonte, its national president, pointed out that in the name of the thousands of Palestinians murdered and of those who could be the new victims, the high school students will demand an end to so much inhuman slaughter.
For Jenifer Perez Villa, of the National Secretariat of the FEU, the moment requires that university students, the universities of the world, make their voices of solidarity with the Palestinian people felt with greater force, hence the call to participate on Saturday in the popular rallies for that purpose.
