Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today once again reiterated his denunciation of the genocide committed by the Zionist government of Israel against the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip.
In his profile on the social network X, the president affirmed that the Israeli army’s bombardments since October last year have caused the death of more than 40 thousand Palestinians, as well as around 92 thousand wounded and almost two million displaced people.
The day that future generations will ask why we did not stop the holocaust, we will not have a dignified and reasonable answer, he said in his message.
During the day, the director general of the Government Information Office in Gaza, Ismail Al-Thawabta, detailed that among the population killed “in a clear and massive way” there are 16,480 minors.
He specified that of this figure, 115 were born and died during the conflict, and a total of 35 died as a result of hunger and malnutrition, a situation which affects some 3,500 of them in the entire coastal enclave.
He also pointed out that more than 17,000 children are living without their parents or without one of them because they were killed by the Israeli military.
Recently, the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) warned about the serious humanitarian situation suffered by the civilian population in Gaza.
