Colombian President Gustavo Petro has demanded that Donald Trump return the territory of Texas that was stolen by the US. He made the comment in response to the real estate mogul’s statement that Venezuelan oil belongs to his country.
“Because Texas is an invaded territory, it was not sold, it was invaded, just like California and the entire southern United States. In that case, a Latin American president can say, ‘Give it back, they stole it from us,’“ said the Colombian leader.
”I say, let’s make a pact and they give us back what they took from us and what they think we have taken from them, which we have not taken anything from them, so let’s put it on the negotiating table, face to face, not with missiles on poor fishermen,” he proposed.
Petro reiterated his claim that most of the deaths from U.S. attacks on ships in the Caribbean are Colombians and that so far only one body has been found.
