Popular Youth Uprising of Brazil
To the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and Congresswoman and First Lady Cilia Flores,
Revolutionary greetings from the Popular Youth Uprising of Brazil
We express our deep solidarity with the legitimate president and the deputy and First Lady of Venezuela, who have been illegally detained for more than 80 days in New York, United States. They have been kidnapped by imperialist forces under the orders of those who set themselves up as the enforcers of the Americas and the world. There is a judicial process marked by abuses, authoritarianism, and illegalities, which uses the international judicial system to vilify the sovereignty and self-determination of the Venezuelan people. Under the false pretext of combating terrorism and drug trafficking, and without presenting any evidence, presidential immunity, the right to defense of the parties, due process, and international law are being violated. All these actions constitute piracy, looting, war crimes, and state terrorism against a free people.
In addition to the kidnapping, the illegal operation carried out by the United States in Caracas on January 3, 2026, they invaded and bombed the country, causing more than 80 deaths. However, we affirm that this operation is neither circumstantial nor an isolated case, but structural. For more than two decades, the United States has sought to defeat the Bolivarian Revolution through various tactics, ranging from coup attempts to criminal sanctions and media campaigns.
The U.S. National Security Strategy 2025 seeks to secure a purported sovereign right over the Americas. Through its “Shield of the Americas” program, they plan to regain control of our territories. They want to transform Venezuela into a U.S. protectorate. And when they attack Venezuela, we know that the sovereignty not only of Brazil, but of our entire region, is threatened. We will not accept being treated as imperialism’s backyard!
On our continent, we achieved sovereignty not as a gift, but through the struggle our peoples waged on the battlefields against colonialism, slavery, and the violence of those who sought to plunder our wealth and strategic resources. Entire generations fought so that we could write our own history with our own hands. Inspired by Simón Bolívar, the Liberator, we envisioned a united America free from colonial domination. We won our freedom with the courage to proclaim that on this continent we have a homeland and a dignified people.
Today we continue on new battlefields, especially in the realm of ideas, to reaffirm that we will not bow down to those who seek to control us. We will not submit to their dictates, nor will we allow free access to our territory—with free trade zones, access to our wealth and rare earths, or dictating on who should govern us!
The balance of power has shifted significantly, creating both dangers and opportunities. U.S. imperialism, though weakened, remains powerful and increasingly aggressive. The crisis we are experiencing is a consequence of the irrationality of capitalism, which destroys the workforce and natural resources in all spheres of life.
We resist because we believe a revolt against this global policy is possible—a policy marked by growing inequalities and the concentration of wealth, where chaos becomes the norm, the fascist message is imposed as the foundation of the crisis, and authoritarian governments control and threaten to prevent people from reacting. We confront imperialism, today expressed in the narrow nationalism of “America First,” because it does not respond to the demands of the American people or to the dilemmas of humanity.
We resist because we denounce the symptoms of the crisis of U.S. unipolar hegemony, which remains decadent and violent toward the peoples of the world who dare to challenge it. The attacks against Venezuela, Cuba, Palestine, Iran, and the entire Global South expose how barbarism can be normalized through the imperialist offensive, but there is resistance and solidarity that challenge this morality based on genocide and crimes against humanity. Wars are an aberration of this system. We express our hope amid the tragedy of blockades, interventions, genocides, and wars.
We resist because, as the neo liberal world order collapses, the world is reorganizing, and we announce that a new, multipolar order will emerge, in which life is worth more than profits, and in which human beings are not forced to remain victims of history, plundered and condemned. We not only affirm that another world is possible, but that the horizon of socialism is necessary and possible.

The People of Venezuela want their President back! Nicolas and Cilia are innocent.
We demand your immediate release, Nicolás and Cilia, and we denounce imperialism’s cowardly attacks against Venezuela—attacks that violate the principles of international law, sovereignty, and the self-determination of peoples. Our people have the right to live in peace! You, the leaders of Venezuela, are detained for following the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez—a project that restored a people’s identity, gave new meaning to life in the country, and offered new hope and a collective dream, built by many hands, minds, and hearts. You, the leaders of Venezuela, are detained for insisting on the struggle for the independence of the countries of the Global South and for community socialism. No prison can stop our people from continuing to fight for a dignified life and for their sovereignty!
At this moment, we express our full solidarity—both in our own country, through actions of denunciation, and in Venezuela, where we join the International Solidarity Brigade, alongside the MST and other popular movements organized under the ALBA Movement—with activities focused on political coordination, monitoring local initiatives, and agitation and propaganda efforts in the communes. We are very happy to experience and share in the daily life of the Bolivarian Revolution, participatory and protagonist democracy, the revolution of our time. We hope to reunite with them soon, free, alongside the people who elected them and who resist in defense of their own freedom and autonomy.
We know that it is impossible to subdue a free and conscious people. The Bolivarian Revolution remains strong and continues to inspire the youth in struggle to seek the horizon of resistance for a new world, to forge our own path toward emancipation. From Brazil, the Popular Youth Uprising joins the outcry of the peoples of the world for the immediate release of President Nicolás Maduro and Vice President and First Lady Cilia Flores.
Freedom for Maduro and Cilia now!
Trump, get out of Latin America!
Long live the Venezuelan people!
We are free and sovereign peoples!
Let’s internationalize the struggle, let’s internationalize hope!
