This morning during the busy commute on the east side of the San Francisco Bay, thousands of vehicles drove under a banner demanding no war on Cuba. People in hundreds of those cars, weary of Trump’s wars and threats of new ones, honked in support. This banner drop was organized by the Richmond – Regla Friendship Committee and is part of a week of actions called by the No War on Cuba Campaign of the National Network on Cuba.
Yesterday, on Raul Castro’s birthday, multiple actions took place in solidarity with Cuba that included Nashville and Chattanooga Tennessee, Detroit, Madison, San Antonio, Minneapolis and Ohio.
This Friday mid day protests will take place in front of the Federal Building in Seattle and Chicago. And on Saturday there will be a mid day protest at the Los Angeles Federal Building called by US Hands off Cuba Committee.
These activities to stop the attacks on Cuba are building toward an international week of actions, June 28th – July 4.
