On the very same day that the genocidal and pedophile U.S. president, his lackey Milei, and his ambassador to Argentina, Lamelas, were toasting “Independence Day” in various parts of the world, a united rally was held in Buenos Aires in support of Socialist Cuba and in outright condemnation of the United States’ ongoing imperialist aggression. The rally was organized by the La Dignidad Movement, the two CTA unions, the Communist Party, Encuentro Patriótico, Barrios de Pie, and other grassroots organizations. The crowd completely filled the Boxing Federation Buildin. On stage were several social, union, and political leaders, including the general secretary of the Autonomous CTA, Hugo “Cachorro” Godoy. Also among the guests were UP leader Claudio Lozano; Gustavo Muñoz, representing the CTA de los Trabajadores; Network in Defense of Humanity (REDH) representative Paula Klachko; Communist Party General Secretary Jorge Kreiness; journalist Néstor Piccone; and Congressman Juan Marino, among others. Singer-songwriter Paula Ferré also took the stage and performed some of her songs.
Speaking on behalf of the Cuban embassy was diplomat Leonardo Baster, who expressed gratitude for Argentina’s solidarity with Cuba and called for joining forces to confront the difficult times currently facing Latin America and the world.
The U.S. blockade against Cuba is today a suffocating reality for millions of people: hospitals without essential medicines, daily power outages that disrupt the lives of entire families, and extreme obstacles to accessing basic foodstuffs.
