Protesters marched to the UN headquarters in New York, where they were joined by Colombia President Gustavo Petro

As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the UN General Assembly, thousands of pro-Palestine protesters marched only a few blocks away to demand his arrest. Demonstrators first rallied in Times Square, hearing from a variety of speakers from organizations across the pro-Palestine and anti-war movement, then the crowd marched west to the UN headquarters. The 26th Political Council of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) concluded on Wednesday with a powerful final declaration underscoring the alliance’s continued resistance to foreign intervention and reaffirmation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace. The council meeting brought together high-level representatives from ALBA-TCP member states, who jointly expressed concern over escalating threats to peace, sovereignty, and regional stability—particularly those stemming from the imperialist aggression orchestrated by the United States.
