During my most recent travel to Cuba (6-13 September) I visited a variety of institutions, including (1) a “maternity home,” a clinic for at-risk expectant mothers, and (2) a “grandparents’ community,” a facility where seniors (70+) can live if they can’t or don’t want to live on their own. (more…)

There are men who come to war from far away. They arrive by ship, by plane, in military transport; they arrive with a uniform they’ve been given, a salary, an order, and a date they once imagined would be their return date. Secretary of State Rubio got the jump on ‘Sanctions Thursday’ unveiling his new sanctions and revisions to the OFAC Frequently Asked Question website on Tuesday, September 29.
