The World Says No

A resounding victory was achieved today by the largest of the Antilles at the United Nations General Assembly, which by 184 votes in favor, 2 against and 3 abstentions approved the resolution “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”.

The world once again rejects the blockade. On the blackboards in the General Assembly Hall, the overwhelming majority of the international community was in favor of Cuba and against the blockade imposed by the US government against our people.

The United States and Israel repeated this year as the countries to oppose the resolution.

Colombia, Ukraine and Brazil abstained.

Since 1992, the United Nations General Assembly has approved with increasing majority the Cuban resolution and thus demanded the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. over 60 years ago on the island.
