The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, spoke this Tuesday with Gail Walker, executive director of the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization (IFCO), to which the Pastors for Peace Caravan belongs.

In a message published on the social network Twitter, the president said that in the meeting “we remembered Fidel, the founder of Pastors for Peace Lucius Walker, and the many episodes of the Caravans against the Blockade”, while thanking her for the solidarity and her unconditional love for Cuba.

Walker herself highlighted on her twitter that “it is always a pleasure to be with my brother Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez. We will continue to fight the lies about Cuba”, while making a call to eliminate the blockade.

Pastors for Peace is a project of the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization and was born in 1988 in response to the aggressive policy of the then US President Ronald Reagan against Latin American countries, according to the Foreign Ministry’s website.

Last November, the Cuban President himself met with members of the 31st edition of the Pastors for Peace Caravan, made up on that occasion of 72 participants from the United States and Germany.
