Cuba Foils Violent Plans of Terrorists Based in the US

The end of 2023 is approaching and while Cuban families prepare to welcome in the New Year, actions are committed to tarnish the celebrations, thus causing pain and death. Cuban authorities foiled a few days ago a plan of terrorist actions by Cubans living in the United States, which would presumably be carried out during the New Year’s holidays.

Recently, a Cuban resident in the United States arrived illegally on the North coast, Martí municipality, Matanzas province, from Florida on a jet ski. Thanks to the quick denunciation and the work of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), an exhaustive investigation is being developed at this moment, which prevented the violent actions planned by the United States to be carried out. Further details were given on Sunday, during a report broadcast by the Cuban Television.

MININT has detained and is investigating several people linked to plans to carry out violent actions. The ongoing inquiry shows as preliminary results that this person moved from the north coast of Matanzas to the province of Cienfuegos, his place of origin, from where he contacted several people to recruit them.

According to Cuban authorities, US-based Cubans involved in these events have links with other terrorists living there, who publicly promote violent actions against Cuba and have even received military training and are wanted by the Cuban authorities for their involvement in the promotion, planning, organization and financing of acts of terrorism.

“The United States publicly promotes violent actions against Cuba through people who have received training in the United States with weapons, training, and resources to execute these plans. Among them are terrorists who have been included in the list of persons under investigation and wanted for their involvement in terrorist attempts against Cuba, published at the beginning of December in the Official Gazette of the Republic,” MININT assured.

The recent illegal arrival of the man who’s identity was not given, his movements through the country, the contacts he established from Cienfuegos, and the recruitments he tried to achieve have been backed by the US-based entities Nueva Nacion Cubana and La Nueva Nacion Cubana en Armas. Both entities also appear on the Cuban list of terrorists who organize, finance, provide means, and execute terrorist actions with the island as a target.

As part of the ongoing investigation, authorities contacted two Cubans -who’s identities were not given- currently serving sentences. They explained some of the contacts they established with terrorists and the indications received from them. One of the individuals said that Miguel Gómez Bartulo alias Mikki Terrori, who lives in Miami, Florida, and whose name is on the Cuban list of terrorists, asked him to undertake specific violent actions.

“He put me in contact with someone who identifies himself as CPGA (Council for War), which is the movement led by another US-based Cuban terrorist, Manuel Milanes, who identifies himself as the gang leader. I asked them for weapons, but CPGA refused and rather offered me money to commit actions of banditry,” he said.

CPGA offered the individual USD$50 for putting up anti-revolutionary posters on facades, USD$100 for physically assaulting a public official, USD$100 for burning sugar cane fields, and USD$200 for burning tobacco houses.

“They added that I should keep preparing myself for the Zero Hour, the supposed time when they are going to invade Cuba. They always say they have many people involved in that. Mikki Terrori assured me that they recently had an FBI search and vests and weapons were seized,” he recalled.

Another individual interviewed by MINIT for the TV report assured that two other terrorists contacted him. “US-based Cuban Amijail Sanchez asked me to knock down a high tension tower, and that he would give me US$1500, while Kiki Naranjo asked me to set fire to a state-owned car and burn a sugar cane field. For each car burned I would receive US$300 and for each sugar cane field, US$300.”

Mijai Sanchez González lives in Florida. When he lived in Cuba was prosecuted for illegal possession and carrying of firearms, theft, illegal slaughter of livestock, injuries, illegal economic activity and reckless homicide. Michel Naranjo Riveron alias Kiki Naranjo was born in San Miguel del Padron. He immigrated to the United States in 2020 after being warned for disturbing the public order, prosecuted for injuries, assault, robbery with violence, and public disorder. He currently offers financing from social networks to carry out terrorist actions inside the island.

These characters live freely in Florida, protected by the Biden Administration. They act with impunity while they try to disrupt to generate terror and pain in Cuba, during the time of traditional family gatherings. Once again, the double standard of the United States comes to light. On one hand it looks passively at this reality on the other it keeps the island on an arbitrary list of countries sponsoring terrorism. In the US there seems to be no shortage of contradictions between what they espouse and what they do.
