The president of Colombia denounced today that Israel is bombing children like Jesus, born in Palestine, and everyone remains silent in the face of this crime.
“At this moment there is a bombing on babies, there where Jesus was born. Now that there is going to be Christmas Eve, thousands and thousands of children are being killed there,” said Gustavo Petro on Thursday in a speech from the city of Ibague (Tolima) in the midst of Christmas festivities and even the approach of Christmas Eve.
For the Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip, the Colombian president used terms such as “children like Jesus” and “children of God” to underline the seriousness of the situation in such a significant time from the religious point of view.
During his speech, he also made reference to Christmas Eve and the manger, the place where Jesus was born, to highlight the tragedy of the bombings that affect even religious symbols.
Petro regretted that “nobody opposes from the spheres of world power” in the face of this crisis. The Colombian president made it clear that the “indolence and indifference” in the face of this pain is not just the state of mind of one person, but “a political conception” which, according to him, reflects a lack of sensitivity to human suffering.
The Israeli regime has launched a genocidal war against the Gaza Strip since October 7 in retaliation for the failure of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, carried out by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS) in response to the escalation of the Tel Aviv regime’s crimes against the Palestinian people.
