We Will Not Negotiate With the Executioners of Mother Earth!

World Congress of Peoples in Defense of Mother Earth, Caracas, Venezuela

October 11, 2025

From the heart of the territories in resistance, more than 3,000 national and international delegates from 63 countries around the world gathered in Caracas, Venezuela, on October 9 and 10, 2025, at the World Congress in Defense of Mother Earth, declare that COP30 in Belém will be the stage where we will demand historic climate justice. We denounce that the Capitalocene—that system that commodifies life—has generated an irreversible metabolic fracture, turning rivers, forests, and living beings into commodities. In the face of this civilizational crisis, we do not come to beg for crumbs from those responsible for the capitalist climate collapse, but to impose our alternatives. In this sense, President Nicolas Maduro called on us to consolidate the world’s eco-socialist social movements in order to “reinvigorate and multiply their capacity for influence” and bring a common voice to COP30.

Our horizon is eco socialism: a model that subordinates the economy to the cycles of nature, recognizes the rights of Mother Earth—including the legal personification of the Orinoco and the criminalization of ecocide—and prioritizes regeneration over capitalist sustainability. We demand the payment of the historical ecological debt by the Global North, not as charity, but as mandatory reparation.

We will bring a concrete agenda to Belém including:

  1. Promote a strategic alliance between ancestral knowledge and critical science to protect biodiversity and ecosystems, practice agroecology, implement community early warning systems, create nurseries, and carry out intensive reforestation. President Nicolas Maduro called for “…the defense of scientific truth and urged peoples and movements to raise their voices in defense of science and oppose the diplomacy of illusion that postpones crucial decisions.”
  2. Promote a decolonizing educational revolution that trains eco-socialist guardians through youth brigades, intercultural lectures, and social media hacking for the climate struggle.
  3. Create an International People’s Movement in defense of peace, humanity, and Mother Earth, which unifies the Global South and demands the criminalization of predatory transnational corporations and builds concrete actions from grassroots organizations.

The solution does not lie in carbon markets or green washing. It lies in permanent popular mobilization that is already sowing the seeds of the future in the communes, defending territories from extractivism, and weaving a new metabolic relationship with Mother Earth.

Mother Earth is not for sale, she must be defended!

For Peace and the Sovereignty of the Peoples…

Until victory, always!
